$5 mn airport for Kirkuk
Construction
(Azzaman) - The provincial council in Kirkuk has allocated $5 million for the construction of a new airport in the province. The oil rich city of Kirkuk is the capital of the province and is currently a bone of contention between various Iraqi ethnic groups due to its massive oil reserves. The airport is one of 52 other projects the council plans to implement in the province this year. They include water purification plants, pavement of roads, parks, housing schemes and other public service projects.
