Deputy interior minister's son killed

(VOI) – The son of the Iraqi deputy interior minister was killed along with three bodyguards by a group of gunmen in the northern Iraqi town of Shurqat, 80 km south of Mosul, while policemen found two bodies inside a civilian car in the town, a security source in the Shurqat police department said on Thursday. "An armed group opened fire at Muthanna Mohammad Khalaf al-Juburi, son of deputy interior minister, inside his car in central Shurqat, south of Mosul, killing him on the spot along with three bodyguards," the source told the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI). "The unidentified attackers showered the car with bullets, setting it ablaze," he added. Meanwhile, police forces found two unidentified bullet-riddled bodies inside a civilian vehicle, along with a third man who was seriously injured, the source also said, adding no further details.
