Four Insurgent Groups Unite To Fight Against Iraqi And American Forces
Insurgency
(Azzaman Newspaper AR. vers.) - 13 MAY - Yesterday in Fallujah, four insurgent groups announced the formation of a new front to fight against the Iraqi and American forces a few hours after the announcement of Iraqi National Security Advisor, Muwaffaq Al Rubaie, about new negotiations with the insurgent groups. Fallujah citizens were surprised by a statement which was painted on the walls of Fallujah which says that the Islamic Army, Ansar Al Sunna, Mujahadin Army, and the 1920 Revolutionary Battalions have decided to form a new front called the Jihad and Reformation Front.
The statement said that the goal of the new front will be fighting American and Iraqi forces. The New York Times Newspaper reported that Al Rubaie, who is visiting Washington, said, “Iraqi government officials had negotiations with insurgent groups including the 1920 Revolutionary Battalions and Ansar Al Sunna in order to weaken Al Qaeda.” Most of the insurgent groups in Anbar are targeting the American Army.
Al Rubaie had secret meetings with American Congressmen such as Representative John Murtha and Senator Carl Levin. The New York Times reported that Al Rubaie said, “I know that American patience is beginning to end but we have reached the last mile of a successful walk. If the Americans abandon us, we will lose everything.”
