SOC-SMG wins $14 mn. Iraq security contract

Contracts
(Military-Industrial complex) - SOC-SMG Inc., Minden, Nev., was awarded on June 5, 2007, a $9,500,000 increment as part of a $14,611,783 firm-fixed-price contract for security services. Work will be performed in Iraq, and is expected to be completed by June 14, 2008. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There were 15 bids solicited on May 29, 2007, and ten bids were received. The Joint Contracting Command Iraq/Afghanistan, Baghdad, Iraq, is the contracting activity (W91GDW-07-C-4005).

Boeing wins $10.5 mn. IDIQ Iraq contract

Contracts
(Defense Industry Daily) - The Boeing Co. in St. Louis, MO received a minimum guaranteed $10.5 million indefinite-delivery/ indefinite-quantity contract for "intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance services utilizing an unmanned aircraft system in support of the Global War on Terrorism." This contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $381.55 million.
Work will be performed in the area of operations in support of I and II Marine Expeditionary Forces (MEFs) deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and is expected to be complete December 2007 (December 2010 with options). Contract funds will expire at the end of the fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with proposals solicited via the Navy Electronic Commerce Office, with two offers received. The Marine Corps Systems Command in Quantico, VA issued the contract (M67854-07-D-2052).

$14 mn. security contract for Diyala awarded

Contracts
(FedBizOpps) - Under award number W91GDW-07-C-4005, SOC-SMG of Minden, NV won a $14,611,783.01 contract for Diyala Internal Security Services on June 02, 2007 from the Department of the Army, Multi-National Forces Iraq, Joint Contracting Command Iraq, JCCIA Theater-Wide Requirements Division (TWR), DIRECTORATE OF CONTRACTING REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL PALACE.
The company is a security contractor whose personnel generally have U.S. Special Operations backgrounds, and their web site notes their status as a 5-Star rated security company in the Iraqi theater. Their primary mission to this point has involved the challenging task of providing security support to US Defense Contractors who recover and dispose of Captured Enemy Ammunition (CEA) from the Hussein regime's numerous and large stores within Iraq.

Russian oil company signs $4 billion contract with Iraq

Oil
(MENAFN) - A spokesperson at Russia-based LUK-Oil Company said that the company has signed a $4 billion contract with Iraq's Ministry of Foreign Affairs to develop oil fields in West Qurna, Iraq Directory reported. He added that the accord aims at assisting the company's projects abroad and to improve diplomatic ties. The Chairman of LUK-Oil said that the company is confident about the new deal with Iraq. The Iraqi Parliament still has to approve of the new law for oil which seeks to establish general work outline for foreign companies that invest in Iraq.

Interested small businesses that are certified and qualified as a small business concern in NAICS Code 518210 with the size standard of $23.0m are encouraged to su bmit their capabilities package outlining their experience in the following key areas: The National Detainee Reporting Center (NDRC) is looking for a satellite telecommunication system with secure capability and information service that will benefit to the highest degree, the safety, security, preservation of human life and protection of property. The satellite telecommunications system must provide, at a minimum, a 256k bit encrypted guaranteed bandwidth 2.048 Megabyte line into theater and a 1.024 Mega byte line out of theater of operations.

FluorAMEC lands $1.1 billion contract

(Los Angeles Business) A joint venture of Aliso Viejo-based engineering and construction management company Fluor Corp. and London-based AMEC plc will build, repair and manage water and sewerage systems in Iraq under two contracts worth $1.1 billion. Under a $600 million contract, Fluor AMEC LLC, of Greenville, S.C., will provide design-build construction services for water distribution and treatment systems in Iraq. The joint venture received a separate contract worth up to $500 million for additional work of the same kind.
